we are dreamers. us teenagers. us college kids. us children. our generation is a generation of people who live in the clouds , we drink all the time , we smoke weed , or we live inside fairy tales , we live in books , we want to be loved more then ever , we make huge plans because we know we’re going to die tomorrow. we are idealists in a realistic formation. and the older generations are concerned about this. why? because what we want is unrest. we want is to change the things in the world. and the don’t want that for us. not because they don’t advocate a better world , but because they’re scared. they come from a generation where you sit back and watch. because those who have stood up in the past have been killed. how many black advocates died in the light of trying to get equal rights? how many germans helped jews and were killed because of it? they are a strong yet cowardly generation. and though the children of today may have crazy ideas , they are ideas. and they are not scared. how long did the jews suffer before they were saved? how long did the slaves in america suffer before we finally set them free? today , kony has taken over 30,000 childhoods away from children. all of you on tumblr hope for skinny legs , rich houses , boyfriends , and there are children who have nothing to want , who must kill their parents and live with that for the rest of their lives. they have no choice. teenagers of today - be dreamers. dreams are the roots of change. they are the root of a better tomorrow. but do not dream to be the next fashion model , do not dream of being the next NCAA MVP unless you put your heart into it for the right reasons - put your dreams into changing the world. put your dreams into stopping kony . put your dreams into making your communities a better place . the generation of today is a generation of dreamers , who have the ability to change the world . change begins with you . no child should live like those in Africa do . do not let the idea that your opinion does not matter , that your voice does not matter , that your ability does not matter , because it does.
